Purchase Air Program (Contract Air)
Did you know that you could buy compressed air as a utility? You buy electricity, water and maybe gas, why not buy air?
Your own compressed air system may not be the best use of your resources and capital expenditures for your plant. We have a new solution to provide compressed air for your plant, which will allow you to concentrate on your own business. It makes it easy to budget, your compressed air costs can be fixed, and we take all the worry out of it!
Scales Air Compressor will own, operate, and maintain a compressed air system. We will provide compressed air based on your requirements, lubricated or oil free, and at the specific pressure and quality required for your application. You pay for the air you need and use, we'll handle the details.
Newer compressed air systems may be more reliable and efficient. A new system can reduce energy and maintenance costs and improve reliability over an older existing system.
Scales Air Compressor has the experience to help you in all areas of your compressed air system, call us today!

Lubricants
Bill Scales, our CEO, has been a member of the American National Standards Institute (ANSI-Z11, now ISOTC-28) Air Compressor Oil Panel since 1977, and has helped write the specifications for air compressor lubricants for the International Standards Organization.
Together with world reknown experts, Scales Air Compressor Corp. has blended two lubricants, one for rotary screw compressors and one for reciprocating units. Both lubricants are chemically compatible with all compressor and downstream air line components. As a matter of fact, the USDA has accepted Scales H1-46 as a lubricant for use in rotary screw air compressors where compressed air can have incidental food contact.
The extended drain intervals, non-toxic, non-hazardous waste features all serve to keep your compressors running longer with trouble free service and reduced operating and maintenance costs.
SCALES SYN-460---Rotary Screws
Scales SYN-460 is a custom-blended, polyalphaolefin (PAO), synthetic hydrocarbon oil giving improved lubrication at high and low temperatures, reduced volatility, good chemical inertness and hydrolytic stability, and compatibility with mineral oils. SYN-460 is a long-life lubricant, formulated especially for oil-flooded rotary screw compressors and vacuum pumps.
Typical drain intervals are 8,000 hrs. versus 1,000 to 2,000 hours for petroleum base lubricants.
SCALES H1-46---Food Grade
Scales H1-46 has been authorized and accepted by the USDA and complies with FDA 21GRF178.3570 Lubricants with Incidental Food Contact. A typical drain interval is 4,000 hours.
Sampling and engineering laboratory analysis is recommended at specific intervals and available through Scales Air Compressor Corp.
SCALES UCO-68---Reciprocating
Scales UCO-68 is truly the universal compressor oil. It is custom formulated and designed for long life under the most severe and demanding conditions normally encountered in reciprocating air compressors.
UCO-68 is a highly refined semi-synthetic, hydro-treated, double de-waxed mineral oil. This lubricant is specially refined with state-of-the-art technology which results in performance improvements far beyond conventional mineral oils and many synthetics. With UCO-68, you can expect longer compressor life, resistance to carbon buildup, less equipment maintenance, and safer operations.

Lighting Control & Energy Management Systems
CONSERVING ENERGY COULDN'T BE EASIER
Efficient lighting control and energy management have always been fundamental business requirements. With today's rising energy costs, higher charges for peak usage periods, the
ability to reduce power consumption for lighting is imperative. Reductions must occur without
compromising security or potentially harming existing lighting systems. While most new facilities are designed to optimize lighting efficiency, a simple, cost-effective solution has not been available to provide similar capabilities for existing buildings.
LightLogix reduces the steady state operating voltage of lighting circuits with magnetic ballasts.
This reduces the line current and, consequently, power and consumption. Savings with LightLogix range from 25 to 45 percent. Businesses realize fast paybacks - two years or less. In many cases,
energy conservation rebates from utilities make cost recovery even faster.
In most facilities, lighting can be reduced without negative impact. Building designs often provide higher lighting levels than required, sometimes twice as much, to compensate for reduced output as lights age.
Because LightLogix' controlling method is dependent on transformer principle alone, the system
can reduce line current without undesirable effects such as line spikes, harmonics, and power
factor reduction. While ever-present security demands may require lighting on a 7x24 basis throughout many facilities, electric lighting can often be reduced at times of higher ambient lighting without jeopardizing safety and without damage to the lighting system. LightLogix
reduces lighting while maintaining illumination Engineering Society (IES) recommended levels.
OPEN HARDWARE SOLUTIONS
LightLogix' open system component design provides facilities managers with maximum flexibility and
ensures years of trouble-free operation and energy savings. LightLogix can serve as a component - or as the cornerstone - in a total energy management system. Site-specific requirements (sensors, communications, zone control, etc.) are easily addressed and implemented.
An Allen-Bradley PLC, the top-of-the-line program-mable logic controller, controls the machine settings. The system monitors current and voltage and maintains them at the desired settings.
LightLogix can control lighting on a daily, weekly, or manual basis. Operators can program up to seven changes of voltage output (energy reduction) per day or per week. This yields a maximum potential of 49 daily settings and seven weekly settings.
