Do you know how efficient your compressed air system is?

Do you what volume of compressed air is being consumed in your plant?

Scales Air Compressor can supply these answers and more with our compressed air system audits. Through the use of a compressed air audit you can identify compressed air usage and determine an action plan to help reduce your energy costs.

We will come into your plant and meet with your staff to discuss the operation of your system or point us in the direction of the plant and we'll get started right away.

Plant Audit
There are many ways that we can structure an audit. It may be as simple as a survey in which we install a flow meter, record data and follow up with a report, or as complete as a comprehensive energy audit. Comprehensive energy audits generally include compressor supply and system demand evaluation, a full leak survey, a review of inappropriate uses, and a complete report.

Flow Monitoring
Scales Air Compressor will supply and install a mass flow meter sensor in the compressed air piping system in your facility. The probe is safely installed without shutting your plant down. The information collected from the sensor will be used to determine the compressed air being consumed by the plant. A data logger will take a snapshot of the sensor output every minute, 24 hours a day, usually for one week. Using our software we will then analyze the data and provide a report that will include peak, minimum and average daily flow rates for each day of the week.

Power Monitoring
Watt transducers are installed to monitor and record the power consumed by each of the air compressors. We will include this information in our report to show the power versus the air demand.

Pressure Monitoring
Pressure transducers are installed to monitor and record the pressure maintained in the plant air system. We will include this data in our report to show the plant pressure in relation to air demand.

Leak Detection
Full service leak detection and repair surveys are available for any size plant air system. Our engineering group provides an extensive leak detection program that will locate, detail and tag leaks. We will then provide a comprehensive report that includes leak locations, type and cost of repair. The energy waste associated with the air leaks and a payback analysis will also be calculated. In addition we'll provide the service to repair the leaks, allowing you to reap the savings and keep your plant running as efficiently as possible.

Control Panels and Compressor Networking
Scales Air Compressor can design, build, install and start-up control systems for all types of compressor and related equipment. We can custom build a panel to operate, monitor, and interface other compressors as well as with external systems.

Scales Air Compressor provides multiple compressor sequencing panels to save maintenance costs, rotate compressor usage, and reduce power costs by only running the compressor(s) required to meet the demand.

Compressor networking controls link multiple compressor controls together and allow the compressors to "talk" to each other. This enables the compressors to turn on or off based on system loading, saving electrical and maintenance costs. Scales Air Compressor can design a networked system for the ultimate in compressor control.

Energy Saving and Reliability Seminars
For more than 30 years Scales Air Compressor has provided energy saving seminars to utilities, industry, pharmaceutical companies, engineering and consulting firms, and many other organizations. Scales Air Compressor offers Savings and Reliability Workshops that can be tailored to your individual industry, market sector or plant. These exciting sessions will teach you:

  • How to determine the real costs of air and how to reduce them.
  • How to determine if you really need another air compressor or if other actions can be taken to make your present compressed air system workable.
  • How to use storage effectively.
  • Correct piping practices.
  • Inappropriate uses of compressed air, what they cost, and what can replace them.
  • How heat recovery can bring thousands of dollars to your company's bottom line.

In addition, these workshops will equip you with the knowledge and tools to help you generate savings and efficiencies in your compressed air system. You will also receive handouts and a complete course workbook. Please call Scales Air Compressor now for more information on these informative seminars.

Purchase Air Program
Did you know that you could buy compressed air as a utility? You buy electricity, maybe gas and water, why not buy air? Your own compressed air system may not be the best use of your resources and capital expenditures for your plant. We have a new solution to provide compressed air for your plant, which will allow you to concentrate on your own business. It makes it easy to budget, your compressed air costs can be fixed, and we take all the worry out of it!

Scales Air Compressor will own, operate, and maintain a compressed air system. We will provide compressed air based on your requirements, lubricated or oil free, and at the specific pressure and quality required for your application. You pay for the air you need and use, we'll handle the details.

Newer compressed air systems may be more reliable and efficient. A new system can reduce energy and maintenance costs and improve reliability over an older existing system.

Scales Air Compressor has the experience to help you in all areas of your compressed air system, call us today! or see our contact details here.
